Shamrock Park is at 2545 Jeff Street, Charlotte 28205, and the Country Club Heights neighborhood describes it as bordered by Airlie Street, Jeff Street and Hilliard Drive. The neighborhood presents it as the anchor of its community and a venue for annual events, and Plaza Shamrock's neighborhood group lists its National Night Out gathering there. The city's Central, Albemarle and Shamrock neighborhood improvement program covers the surrounding area, from Eastway Drive at The Plaza to Central Avenue and out along Albemarle Road. This guide has not found an authoritative figure for the park's size or a founding date, so the directory's approximate acreage should be confirmed with the county's Park Explorer. Naming also varies: the surrounding area is described as Plaza Shamrock by one group and Country Club Heights by another, and both references appear in local sources.

The Country Club Heights page lists a playground area, a gazebo, a tennis and pickleball court and a native plant garden, with several picnic areas and benches spread throughout. The garden was built in a lightly wooded area to demonstrate native shrubs, herbaceous plants and groundcovers, with woodland and meadow species donated by the UNC Charlotte Botanical Garden, the neighborhood association and neighbors, as well as plants rescued from development sites. That makes the park a small teaching landscape as well as a playground. Neighborhood groups, not the county, wrote those descriptions, so verify the amenities and any closures on the county's park page. Event use can bring temporary tents and parking pressure on the surrounding residential streets, which are not designed for crowds. Keep dogs leashed unless a posted rule says otherwise, and stay on paths in the garden.
Relationship to Plaza Midwood
The park lies north and east of the Plaza Midwood core, on the Plaza Shamrock side of The Plaza, and it works as a residential park for streets that share a transition between the two areas. The city has studied the Shamrock, Plaza and Matheson intersection and lists a Shamrock Drive complete street project in its improvement program, so the walking and cycling environment around the park is changing and worth checking on the city's project page. From Central Avenue the trip is a short drive or bike ride, and the walk is feasible for neighbors on nearby blocks. The park does not connect directly to a county greenway. For longer outings, Kilborne Park and Eastway Regional Recreation Center are the nearest larger county facilities to the east. Check the street parking signs, particularly during neighborhood events.

Green space in Plaza Midwood works as an extension of the front porch: short, frequent, social visits rather than destination trips. Shamrock Park is used most heavily in the early morning and the hour before sunset, and its edges are among the most sought-after addresses in the immediate area.
